gram)

- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
For the dough:
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Water, as required
- Ghee, for cooking
Instructions:
1. Wash the chana
dal and soak it in water for at least 2 hours. Drain the water and cook the dal
in a pressure cooker with 2 cups of water for 3-4 whistles or until it becomes
soft and mushy.
2. Drain any excess
water from the cooked dal and mash it well using a potato masher or a spoon.
3. Heat a pan on
medium heat and add the mashed dal, grated jaggery, and cardamom powder. Mix
well and cook for 5-6 minutes or until the mixture thickens and the jaggery
melts completely. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.

bowl, add the wheat flour, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well and add enough
water to knead it into a smooth and soft dough.
5. Divide the dough
into equal-sized balls and flatten each ball into a small disc using your
palms. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of the disc and wrap the edges
of the dough over the filling to form a ball.
6. Dust the dough
ball with some flour and roll it out into a thin circle, using a rolling pin.
7. Heat a griddle
or a tawa on medium heat and place the rolled-out dough on it. Cook until the
bottom side is golden brown and then flip it over and cook the other side.
8. Spread some ghee
on top of the cooked Puran Poli and serve hot.
